Messages you send me

When you write to me from the contact page, I collect your email address and your message, plus your name and topic if you give them.

Your message reaches my inbox through Web3Forms, a service that turns website messages into email. A copy is also saved in a database I run on Supabase, so nothing is lost if the email fails. The server checks your IP address to limit spam and does not save it.

I use your message only to reply to you. If you want it deleted, write to me and I will remove it.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to see which posts, emails and links bring people here. It records the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser, and your approximate location. It also records two actions: pressing one of the four buttons on the Practice page, and sending me a message, with its topic but never your name, email or words. It uses cookies on this site to tell one visit from the next. Google says it does not log or store your IP address.

If your device is set to a European time zone, Google Analytics does not load at all until you choose Accept on the bar at the bottom of the page. If Google places you in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, it sets no analytics cookies unless you accept, though Google still receives a basic, cookie-free record of the visit.

Anyone can switch it off. Choose Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, then Decline.

There are no ads here, and the site tells Google that advertising cookies and ad personalisation are not allowed. Read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Vercel Web Analytics

Vercel, which hosts this site, also counts visits. It uses no third-party cookies. It tells visits apart with a code made from each request and discards it after 24 hours. It records the page, the site that sent you, your approximate location, and your device and browser.

Stored in your browser

Your browser remembers your light or dark theme, your cookie choice, and which posts you have liked. Those stay on your device.
